Dear Greg, Kim and Dan,

We are so enjoying our salmon, both the smoked and the filets. Our family and friends are enjoying them, as well!

It is always such a pleasure to catch fish in Petersburg for we know we can bring it to Coastal Cold Storage for the best preparation for shipping and have it flown down to us is a wonderful service.

Lee and I can't thank you enough for the great service you provide!

Omega-3 fatty acids benefit the heart of both healthy people, and those at high risk of — or who have — cardiovascular disease.

Omega-3 fatty acid content varies greatly among different species of fish. Cold-water fatty fish have the highest content of omega-3 fatty acids because their physiology, environment and diet promote omega-3 fatty acid production in their flesh.

All fish contain some amount of omega-3s, however quantities vary among species and within a species according to the same factors mentioned above, i.e. environment and diet.

The recommendation is to eat fish that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids at least twice a week. More than 80 percent of Pacific Salmon are wild and generally speaking, salmon has among the lowest methyl-mercury contamination levels of all fish.

In addition to Salmon being a very popular and heart-healthy food rich in omega-3 fatty acids, another heart-healthy fish is Albacore Tuna.

About Petersburg, Alaska

Petersburg a small town in Alaska on Mitkof Island is one of Alaska's major fishing communities. Located off the main sea routes used by larger cruise ships, smaller-ship cruise lines like the Alaska Ferry include the Frederick Sound on their route, with a stop in Petersburg.  A favorite spot for celebrities to visit for a fantastic sport fishing experience. Current population of Petersburg is approximately 3,500 permanent residents. A visit to Petersburg provides insight into the character of a true Alaskan isolated town with great community spirit and sense of self-sufficiency. Sight-seeing opportunities include sport fishing charters, a flight in a floatplane or helicopter to view nearby LeConte Glacier (weather permitting), kayaking tours through the calm the waters or hiking through lovely forest trails. Cruise out to look for whales in the south part of Frederick Sound, see the swans in Blind Slough and get a closer view of the gorgeous icebergs with their amazing beauty. Fantastic scenery for artists, nature lovers, and photography enthusiasts.

Petersburg can only be reached by air or sea and is serviced by two separate ferry services: the Inter-Island Ferry Authority and the Alaska Marine Highway.

About Coastal Cold Storage, Inc.

Coastal Cold Storage was started in 1990 by Greg Einerson in a 500 sq/ft garage. Business progressed so in 1992 he rented a retail store in downtown Petersburg with two live tanks. In 1995 the Coastal Cold Storage store expanded to 1220 sq/ft with a walk-in freezer, cooler, display area and live tanks then in 1997, opened up another 880 sq/ft! At that time he bought his first smoker and incorporated the business.

With the business off and running in 1999 he bought a second smoker and in 2006 purchased the Viking Building (which was the same location they had rented for years), now giving them a full 8,800 sq/ft space for fish processing, preparing fish for sale or shipping and processing visiting sports fishermen's catch for shipping. In 2007 he added 3 bunkhouse-style rooms above the store, with fresh, clean accommodations for up to 10 sport fishing lodgers or seasonal employees. The Coastal Cold Storage building is located across the street from Middle Harbor in the main part of town.
